Drawing from my background in NVC Mediation, combined with EFT tapping and The Work of Byron Katie and Ho’Oponopono (Hawaiian forgiveness process), these sessions involve deeply compassionate listening to and supporting you in connecting with the emotions and thinking surrounding the conflict you are experiencing. Feeling safe to freely express your deepest frustrations and upsets and having them understood and held with care, you will open to truly understanding what you have been longing for- from both yourself and the other person. From this place, you will experience deep healing and reconciliation.
The process begins with focusing on what is alive in you in the moment. When you truly understand and hold yourself and all of your feelings and thinking with deep compassion, only then can you have some spaciousness to begin to guess what the other person in your conflict might have been attempting to express in the messages and behaviors that were painful and triggering. The process is quite profound. We use role playing to move through the various aspects of the conflict, with Punita playing the role of the person with whom you have the conflict, listening and reflecting back what you are upset about in the way you wish the person would treat you and understand you. Just this can result in profound shifts and inner healing. And once you feel understood by the other person, if you desire, you then get to play them, role playing exactly what you imagine they would say, and Punita gets to hear you as you play them, responding in the way you probably wish you could…just hearing them without judgment. This too, can open a space for you to get to understand the other in a way you never imagined. And offers you a modeling for how to be in empathy when someone is in judgment.
Trusting that you can actually have a conversation with the other person that will result in deep connection and understanding, may require a number of sessions, depending on the nature of the conflict. Sometimes all that is needed is for you to feel compassion for what is going on within you and the enemy image of the other disappears. As a result, hearts easily and effortlessly open to a place of compassion and forgiveness for self and other.
INNER CONFLICT COACHING
When you feel torn about either a decision that needs to be made, or notice there are 2 or more aspects of yourself that appear to be at odds, this session can bring relief and clarity very quickly. There is often a part of us that makes a choice and then there is another part that acts like our “parent”, or our “educator” that tells us how stupid that was, we “should” have done it differently. We sometimes call this “educator” part our “inner critic.” What happens is the part that made the choice (the “chooser”) tries to defend itself against the critic (“educator”) and we are internally battling, which can be exhausting, depressing and debilitating…. seemingly never-ending. Conflict coaching puts both parts in a role play where the client can get the conflict out of their head and view it with a sense of wonder and curiosity, hearing parts of themselves speak and express feelings and needs they each are trying to meet that are amazing to witness. I call this separating the story from the truth as the client gets to have compassion for all aspects of themselves, hearing why each has acted in the way they have and what they really want. It is quite amazing to witness the internally conflicted parts speak to each other in the role play and actually come to resolution and exquisitely brilliant solutions. I call this an internal mediation, with the outcome being compassionate connection for all parts of ourselves.

A single session, while valuable, is not as powerful as a sequence of sessions which help to truly release and unwind the layers of thoughts, judgments and pain around the conflict.
